the heartbreaking truth

I know that you all got excited reading my last post of how we could each possibly get a check for $297,500.00. Unfortunately (as most of you already know) I am a very skeptical person so I knew better than to get my hopes up. I decided to do a little investigating at one of my favorite sites (snopes.com). Here's the lowdown of what they had to say and a link so you can check out the bad news for yourself.

Basically, the math is incorrect and each person would get about $425. Even if you calculate in the larger proposed bailout, the check amount is roughly $3500. While I would love a check for $3500, I agree with snopes.com that it is not enough money for a person to buy a home or do anything substantial to help the economy.
