Valentine's Day

So today is Friday the 13th which seems to have most everyone around me freaked out. Except me. I am not superstitious. In fact, I think this is probably a lucky day. That could be because I like to go against the normal and since this is considered an unlucky day, I consider it to be lucky.

Which brings me to my next point. I am anti Valentine's Day. It is such a gimmick to get people to spend a lot of unnecessary money to prove they love someone. Don't get me wrong, I always get flowers from my wonderful husband so I'm not bitter because I don't get anything. I just despise the thought of having a national day where people are expected to be romantic. That defeats the purpose to me. It means so much more when Lee is romantic on any given day, not a day when he feels forced to be. The most exciting part of Valentine's Day to me is knowing that Easter candy will be hitting the shelves the next day at Wal-Mart.
